B1690/15 Door Side Airbag Sensor RH Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The door side airbag sensor RH consists of a lateral deceleration sensor, etc.

If the airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, it determines whether the SRS should be activated.

DTC B1690/15 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the door side airbag sensor RH circuit.

Note


  • After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    2. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs

    3. Turn the power switch off.

    4. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    5. Check for DTCs.

      DTC B1690/15 is not output B

      Codes other than DTC B1690/15 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

  2. CHECK DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH


    1. A01MJYOC15
      *1 Door Side Airbag Sensor LH
      *2 Rear Airbag Sensor Assembly RH

      Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Interchange the door side airbag sensor RH with LH and connect the connectors to them.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    5. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    6. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs

    7. Turn the power switch off.

    8. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    9. Check for DTCs.

      DTC B1695/16 is output B
      DTCs B1690/15 and B1695/16 are not output C

      Tech Tips

      Codes other than DTCs B1690/15 and B1695/16 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    10. Turn the power switch off.

    11. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    12. Return the door side airbag sensor LH and RH to their original positions and connect the connectors to them.
