DESCRIPTION

The side collision sensor RH circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat airbag assembly RH, curtain shield airbag assembly RH and front seat outer belt assembly RH) is composed of the airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor assembly RH, rear airbag sensor RH and door side airbag sensor RH.

The side airbag sensor assembly RH, rear airbag sensor RH and door side airbag sensor RH detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbags and pretensioner should be deployed.

These DTCs are stored when a malfunction is detected in the side airbag sensor assembly RH.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    2. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs

    3. Turn the power switch off.

    4. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    5. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes

      DTC B1620/21 or B1622/81 is not output B

  2. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY RH


    1. A01MGB6C01
      *1 Side Airbag Sensor Assembly LH
      *2 Rear Airbag Sensor RH

      Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Interchange the side airbag sensor assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    5. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Clear DTCs

    6. Turn the power switch off.

    7. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    8. Check for DTCs.

    9. Turn the power switch off.

    10. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    11. Return the side airbag sensor assembly RH and LH to their original positions and connect the connectors.
