ELECTRONIC SHIFT LEVER SYSTEM Auxiliary Battery Low Voltage

DESCRIPTION

When the transmission control ECU judges that the power source voltage (+B) is low, a warning message is displayed on the multi-information display.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (LOW VOLTAGE ACTUATOR ABNORMAL HISTORY)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Transmission Control / Data List / Low Voltage Actuator Abnormal History.

    4. Read the Data List displayed on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Transmission Control > Data List
      Tester Display
      Low Voltage Actuator Abnormal History
      Result
      Result Proceed to
      "Low Voltage Actuator Abnormal History" is ON. A
      "Low Voltage Actuator Abnormal History" is OFF (for LHD). B
      "Low Voltage Actuator Abnormal History" is OFF (for RHD). C

    5. Turn the power switch off.

  2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY


    1. Inspect the auxiliary battery.

      Recharge auxiliary battery
      Replace auxiliary battery B

  3. CHARGE AUXILIARY BATTERY


    1. Charge the auxiliary battery.

  4. REPLACE AUXILIARY BATTERY


    1. Replace the auxiliary battery.

  5. CHECK OPERATION


    1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

    2. With the brake pedal depressed, select neutral (N).

    3. Push the P position switch (integration control and panel assembly).

    4. Check that "Insufficient Aux Battery Charge When Parking, Apply Parking Brake Securely" is not displayed on the multi-information display.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    6. Disconnect the P COM-MAIN fuse and wait for 30 seconds or more.

    7. Check that the electronic shift lever system operates correctly.
