WATER PUMP(When Using the Variable Pin Wrench) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket and the engine water pump assembly with the 5 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 TIMING BELT COVER

  3. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING PULLEY


    1. Install SST (pin 7.5) to SST (variable pin wrench arm assembly).

      Set SST to the holes of the camshaft timing pulley.

      Tech Tips

      Securely insert SST into the holes of the camshaft timing pulley so that SST is aligned with the center of the camshaft timing pulley set bolt.

      B0068HS Turn

      While holding SST, tighten the camshaft timing pulley.

      Torque:
      98 N*m  { 999 kgf*cm, 72 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 TIMING BELT IDLER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL GENERATOR BRACKET

  9. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 IDLE PULLEY ASSEMBLY

  11. CONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)

  12. INSTALL FAN SHROUD

  13. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVOIR

    Click here

  14. INSTALL OIL RESERVOIR BRACKET

    Click here

  15. CONNECT VANE PUMP OIL RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY

  16. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

    Click here

  17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  18. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  19. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  20. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD and Pre-Runner)
