DESCRIPTION

The certification ECU intermittently monitors the LIN communication bus between the components related to certification. DTC B2785 is stored when a malfunction in the LIN communication bus between the components related to certification is detected 3 times consecutively.

Note


  • When using the GTS with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:

    Connect the GTS to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the GTS and vehicle begins.

  • If the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or steering lock actuator or upper bracket assembly is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR OR UPPER BRACKET ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the G16 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the G19 steering lock actuator or upper bracket assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G16-5 (LIN) - G19-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      G16-5 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
