PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Move the shift lever to N.

    2. B006N6ZC18
      *a Protrusion

      Align the protrusions of the park/neutral position switch assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the park/neutral position switch assembly to the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • Before installing the park/neutral position switch assembly, remove any dirt or rust on the installation portion of the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly. Be sure to install the park/neutral position switch assembly straight along the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly while being careful not to deform the plate spring that supports the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly. If the plate spring is deformed, the park/neutral position switch assembly cannot be reinstalled correctly.

      • After installing the park/neutral position switch assembly, confirm that the 2 protrusions on the park/neutral position switch assembly are aligned.

      Tech Tips

      If the leaf spring is deformed, the park/neutral position switch assembly cannot be installed correctly.

    4. Install the transmission control shaft lever to the manual valve lever shaft sub-assembly with the washer and nut.

      Torque:
      12.7 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    5. Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness to the wire harness clamp bracket.

    6. Connect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

    7. Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness to the engine mounting bracket LH.

    8. Install the engine mounting damper to the engine mounting bracket LH with the nut.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control shaft lever with the nut.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Before connecting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the park/neutral position switch assembly and the shift lever are in N.

    2. Install the transmission control cable assembly to the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

      Note

      Make sure the clip is installed straight and all the way to the base of the groove of the transmission control cable assembly.

  3. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. Engage the clamp to connect the wire harness to the wire harness clamp bracket.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

  6. INSTALL BATTERY

  7. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL CENTER NO. 1 COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER

  9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
