CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

   
   

   1. Check that the engine switch is off.

   2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

   3. 

      *1	Curtain Shield Airbag Spacer
      *a	Pin

      Attach the 2 claws and install a new curtain shield airbag spacer and a new clip to the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.

      Note

      At this time, do not push in the pin to lock the clip.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the other clips.

   4. 

      *a

      Pin

      Attach the 2 claws to the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.

      Note

      At this time, do not push in the pin to lock the clip.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the other clips.

   5. Attach the 2 hooks and temporarily install the inflator with the 2 new bolts.

   6. Attach the 2 claws of the vehicle rear side deployment portion.

   7. Attach the 2 hooks to temporarily install the new bolts.

   8. Connect the vehicle rear side deployment portion for the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with the clip.

      Note

      At this time, do not push in the pin to lock the clip.

   9. Attach the 2 claws of the vehicle front side deployment portion.

   10. Connect the vehicle front side deployment portion for the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with the clip.

       Note

       At this time, do not push in the pin to lock the clip.

   11. Check that there is no twisting in the deployment portion of the curtain shield airbag assembly LH after connecting.

   12. Install the 3 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

       Torque:

       9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

       *c	Clip w/o Spacer	*d	Clip w/ Spacer
       *e	Inflator	-	-

   13. Using needle-nose pliers, push the pin to lock the clip.

       Note

       Make sure the pin is securely locked.

       Tech Tips

       Use the same procedure to lock the other clips.

       Pin

   14. Lightly pull on the clip to check whether it is locked.

       Tech Tips

       Use the same procedure to check the other clips.

   15. 

       *a	Connector Lock

       Connect the airbag connector and push the connector lock.

       Note

       When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

2. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

   Note

   When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
