REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT


    1. Install the rear differential support to the differential carrier assembly with 4 new bolts.

      Torque:
      98 N*m  { 999 kgf*cm, 72 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the differential carrier assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      19.6 N*m  { 200 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }
  3. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • When installing the rear differential carrier assembly, do not damage the installation surface.

    • When installing the rear differential carrier assembly, the remaining oil may leak out.

    • Hold the rear differential carrier assembly so that it does not tilt or fall.

    • Make sure to support the rear differential carrier assembly while installing each bolt.

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear differential support from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

    2. Slide the rear differential carrier assembly slightly toward the vehicle right side and temporarily install the rear No. 2 differential support with the 2 new bolts labeled A.

    3. Temporarily install the rear No. 1 differential support to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the bolt labeled B and nut.

    4. Temporarily install the rear No. 1 differential support to the rear differential carrier assembly with 2 new bolts labeled C.

    5. Temporarily install the rear differential support to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with a new bolt labeled D.

    6. Tighten the bolts labeled A and C.

      Torque:
      55 N*m  { 561 kgf*cm, 41 ft.*lbf }
    7. Tighten the bolts labeled B and E.

      Torque:
      88.8 N*m  { 906 kgf*cm, 65 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      The nut is a stopper nut. Therefore, tighten the bolt.

    8. Tighten the bolt labeled D.

      Torque:
      106 N*m  { 1081 kgf*cm, 78 ft.*lbf }
    9. Connect the breather tube to the rear differential carrier assembly.

    10. Connect the 2 harness clamps to the wire harness clamp bracket.

    11. Connect the connector to the rear differential carrier assembly.

    12. Remove the transmission jack from the rear differential carrier assembly.

  6. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER MASS DAMPER (for 8AR-FTS)


    1. Install the differential carrier mass damper with the 2 bolts to the rear No. 2 differential support.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }
  7. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL DYNAMIC DAMPER LH (for 3ZR-FAE)


    1. Install the rear differential dynamic damper LH with the 2 bolts to the rear No. 2 differential support.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }
  8. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL DYNAMIC DAMPER RH (for 3ZR-FAE)


    1. Install the rear differential dynamic damper RH with the 2 bolts to the rear No. 1 differential support.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }
  9. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  11. INSTALL TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. for 8AR-FTS:

  12. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL

    Click here

  13. CHECK FOR DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAKAGE

  14. INSPECT EXHAUST GAS LEAK
