PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE WATER OUTLET (w/ Flow Shutting Valve (Water Valve))

      *1 No. 9 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 7 Water by-pass Hose
      *3 No. 4 Water By-pass Hose

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 7 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose from the EGR valve assembly with EGR cooler.

    3. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 9 water by-pass hose from the purge valve.

    4. Remove the 2 nuts, water outlet and water outlet gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  2. REMOVE WATER OUTLET (w/o Flow Shutting Valve (Water Valve))

      *1 No. 9 water by-pass hose
      *2 No. 4 water by-pass hose

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose from the EGR valve assembly with EGR cooler.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 9 water by-pass hose from the purge valve.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts, water outlet and water outlet gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  3. REMOVE EGR PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 bolts and EGR pipe assembly, EGR pipe gasket and inlet EGR gasket.

  4. REMOVE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY WITH EGR COOLER

      Remove the bolt and 4 nuts.

    2. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and EGR valve assembly with EGR cooler from the cylinder head sub-assembly and exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    3. Remove the EGR cooler gasket.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

  8. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE

  12. REMOVE NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (w/ Exhaust Heat Recirculation System)

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 5 water by-pass pipe from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 5 water by-pass pipe from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE NO. 6 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 6 water by-pass pipe from the water inlet sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 6 water by-pass pipe from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)

      Remove the 2 bolts and fuel vapor feed pipe from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

  16. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Slide the clip and remove the ventilation hose from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
