CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during engine coolant temperature sensor or No. 2 engine coolant temperature sensor removal/installation are shown below.

CAUTION:
Do not remove the reserve tank cap, air release valve (w/ air release valve) or radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.
PROCEDURE
REMOVE REAR MOTOR UNDER COVER LH
DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine)
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE EGR PIPE ASSEMBLY
REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

Using SST, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor from the water outlet.
Note
If the engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
Remove the gasket from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
REMOVE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY (w/ Flow Shutting Valve (Water Valve))
REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (w/ Flow Shutting Valve (Water Valve))
Disconnect the No. 2 engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
Remove the clip and No. 2 engine coolant temperature sensor from the No. 2 water by-pass pipe.
Note
If the No. 2 engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.
