ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Tech Tips

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing an engine coolant temperature sensor.



    1. Install a new gasket onto the engine coolant temperature sensor.

    2. Using a 19 mm ball joint lock nut wrench, install the engine coolant temperature sensor to the water outlet sub-assembly.

      Torque:
      19.6 N*m  { 200 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • If an engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Use the torque value compensation formula to calculate the torque value for use when a torque wrench is combined with a tool such as a ball joint lock nut wrench.

    3. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

  2. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE


    1. Connect the engine wire with the 2 wire harness clamps.

  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  4. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing an engine coolant temperature sensor.
