Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
READ NUMBER OF STARTER OPERATIONS
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for LHD)
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (for LHD)
REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT (for LHD)
REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (for LHD)
REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (for RHD)
REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH (for RHD)
REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH (for RHD)
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)
DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)
REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)
REMOVE ECU INTEGRATION BOX RH WITH ENGINE STOP AND START ECU (for LHD)
Disconnect the 3 engine stop and start ECU connectors.

Remove the bolt, nut and ECU integration box RH with engine stop and start ECU.
REMOVE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU (for LHD)
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the engine stop and start ECU as shown in the illustration.
REMOVE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU (for RHD)
Disconnect the 3 engine stop and start ECU connectors.
Remove the 2 nuts and engine stop and start ECU.
