DESCRIPTION


The combination meter assembly receives a text data signal from the radio and display receiver assembly*1 or navigation receiver assembly*2 via local bus communication.

Based on this signal, audio and visual system or navigation system information is displayed on the multi-information display.

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly cannot receive the signal.

  • When replacing the combination meter assembly, make sure to replace it with a new one.

  • except 8 Speakers:

    Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization, registration or calibration may be needed. Refer to Precaution for navigation system or audio and visual system.

  • After replacing the radio receiver assembly of vehicles subscribed to pay-type satellite radio broadcasts, XM radio ID registration is necessary (w/ SDARS System).

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the G158 navigation receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G16-23 (MSCH) - G158-3 (CNH1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G16-22 (MSCL) - G158-4 (CNL1) Always Below 1 Ω
      G16-23 (MSCH) or G158-3 (CNH1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G16-22 (MSCL) or G158-4 (CNL1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the combination meter assembly.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait 30 seconds.

      Note

      A maximum of 30 seconds is required to send/receive the registration information between the combination meter assembly and radio receiver assembly.

      Operate the steering pad switch assembly and check that the audio tab illuminates.

    4. Check for DTCs.

    2. Disconnect the G159 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
