METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Fuel Receiver Gauge Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

• The fuel sender gauge assembly has a variable resistance mechanism. The resistance decreases when the fuel amount increases, and the resistance increases when the fuel amount decreases. The fuel receiver gauge changes based on the resistance of the fuel sender gauge assembly.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (FUEL METER OPERATION)

   
   

   1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the G16 combination meter assembly connector.

   2. Disconnect the V2 fuel sender gauge assembly connector.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition G16-16 (L) - V2-1 Always Below 1 Ω G16-15 (E) - V2-2 G16-16 (L) or V2-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher G16-15 (E) or V2-2 - Body ground
