TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the air cleaner filter element sub-assembly from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE BATTERY

  10. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  11. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  12. REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET

    Click here

  13. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT

  14. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  16. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  17. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      A01V9D5 Disconnect in this Direction

      Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

    3. A01V7UZC01
      *1 Stopper
      *2 Nut
      A01V9D5 Turn in this Direction
      A01V7YP Pull out in this Direction

      Pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.

    4. Turn the nut of the transmission control cable assembly counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

      Note

      Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

  18. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VAKZ

      Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

    2. Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

      Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control cable support.

    4. A01V7U3

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the rear engine mounting insulator.

    5. A01V7E5

      Remove the 2 bolts and transmission control cable assembly.
