  3. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID

    1. Remove the refill plug and gasket from the automatic transaxle assembly.

    2. A01QOXJ

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the automatic transaxle assembly.

    3. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the automatic transaxle assembly and drain the automatic transaxle fluid.

    4. A01QOLNC01
      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube
      *2 Hexagon Socket Wrench
      *a Overflow Plug Hole

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the automatic transaxle assembly.

      Torque:
      0.8 N*m  { 8 kgf*cm, 7 in.*lbf }
    5. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install a new gasket and the overflow plug to the automatic transaxle assembly.

      Torque:
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }
    6. Temporarily install the gasket and the refill plug to the automatic transaxle assembly.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH

    1. A01QQRK

      Remove the 4 bolts and front suspension member reinforcement LH.

  5. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. A01QR9O

      Remove the 19 bolts and automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly from the transaxle case.

      Note

      Some fluid will remain in the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly. Remove all the bolts, and carefully remove the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the automatic transaxle oil pan gasket from the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the 4 transmission oil cleaner magnets from the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

    4. Examine particles in the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

      1. Collect any steel chips with the removed transmission oil cleaner magnets. Look carefully at the chips and particles in the automatic transaxle oil pan sub-assembly and on the transmission oil cleaner magnets to see the type of wear which might be found in the automatic transaxle assembly.

        Result
        Steel (magnetic)
        Bearing, gear and plate wear
        Brass (non-magnetic)
        Bushing wear
