SPEED LIMITER SYSTEM Speed Limiter System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the speed limiter is turned on using the speed limiter switch, the ECM illuminates the speed limiter indicator and activates the speed limiter system. Each function of the speed limiter system can be activated by operating the cruise control switch. When the cruise control system is operating, the speed limiter system will not operate.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM


    1. Turn the ignition switch ON.

    2. Turn the cruise control on using the cruise control switch.

    3. Check the operation of each function by operating the cruise control switch.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (ASL MAIN SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. for 2WW:

      Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

    5. for 2WW:

      According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

      ON: Speed limiter switch on

      Enter the following menus : Powertrain / Cruise Control / Data List / ASL Main Switch.

    7. for 3ZR-FAE:

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the A62 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the G8 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for 2WW
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A62-49 (ASLM) - G8-4 (ASL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A62-42 (ECCS) - G8-2 (ECC) Always Below 1 Ω
      A62-49 (ASLM) or G8-4 (ASL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A62-42 (ECCS) or G8-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for 3ZR-FAE

    1. Disconnect the A62*1 or B93*2 ECM connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
