STARTER(w/ Stop And Start System) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.

    2. Detach the hook of the battery clamp sub-assembly from the front battery bracket, and then remove the battery clamp sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE BATTERY

  9. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  10. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the radiator hose sub-assembly from the front battery bracket.

  11. REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET

      Remove the 4 bolts and front battery bracket.

  12. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT

      Remove the 2 bolts and battery bracket reinforcement.

  13. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET

  15. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the terminal cap.

    2. A01VAGBC01
      *A for CVT
      *B for Manual Transaxle

      Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.

    3. Disconnect the starter connector.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly.

  16. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

      Remove the flywheel housing side cover from the cylinder block.
