CAUTION:
Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.
If the side airbag was deployed, replace the rear seat airbag assembly, rear seatback frame sub-assembly, separate type rear seatback pad and separate type rear seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage Click here.

Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
Lift up the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 rear seat cushion frame hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion assembly from the 2 rear seat cushion lock hooks.

Note
Be sure to hold the part of the rear seat cushion assembly directly next to the rear seat cushion lock hooks when lifting it up. Lifting a different part of the rear seat cushion assembly may deform the rear seat cushion frame.
Disconnect the 2 seat heater connectors.
Pass the 2 rear seat inner belt assemblies through the rear seat cushion assembly and remove the rear seat cushion assembly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK
Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear seat cushion lock hook as shown in the illustration.
Note
Rear seat cushion lock hooks must not be reused.

REMOVE REAR SEATBACK COVER
Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 rear seatback covers.

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag:
Disconnect each connector and clamp from the child restraint seat anchor bracket sub-assembly LH.
Disengage the 2 rear seat belts from the 2 rear seat shoulder belt guides.
Disengage the 2 hooks and disconnect the cover.
Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts and rear seatback assembly LH.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER SHOULDER BELT GUIDE (for LH Side)
Remove the 2 screws.
Disengage the guide and remove the rear seat center shoulder belt guide.
REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE
Remove the 2 screws.
Disengage the guide and remove the rear seat shoulder belt guide LH.
REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
Disengage each hooks.
Remove the 12 hog rings.
w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag:
Remove the nut and separate the airbag bracket.
Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 rear seat headrest supports.
Disengage the clamp to disconnect the seat heater wire harness from the rear seatback frame sub-assembly LH.
Remove the separate type rear seatback cover with pad from the rear seatback frame sub-assembly LH.
REMOVE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Disengage the 2 clamps.
Remove the 2 nuts and rear seat airbag assembly.
CAUTION:
The nuts must not be reused.
Make sure that the rear seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
