DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor LH detects a ground short in the outer rear view mirror indicator LH.

    When either of the following conditions is met:

  • Blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on.


  • The current that is sent from the blind spot monitor sensor to the indicator is above a specified level for a specified period of time.

  • Outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH)

  • Outer rear view mirror assembly LH

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Blind spot monitor sensor LH

  • Outer mirror control ECU assembly LH

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is on.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

    NG

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH) Click here

    OK

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH)


    1. Disconnect the T17 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the K12 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K12-10 (BDSL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH - OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH)


    1. Disconnect the z18 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the IND1 outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z18-7 (BSM+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Disconnect the K12 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.

    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH) Click here.

    2. Inspect the outer rear view mirror indicator LH on the outer rear view mirror LH Click here.

    REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR LH)) Click here

  6. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      No DTCs are output.
