PARKING BRAKE PEDAL (for LHD) REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.


    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER SUPPORT


  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Driver Side Knee Airbag)


  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Smart Entry and Start System)


    1. B000MTG

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the bolt.

    3. Disconnect the connector to remove the No. 1 indoor electrical key antenna assembly.

      Note

      Be careful when removing the No. 1 indoor electrical key antenna assembly. If the antenna is dropped, replace it with a new one.

  6. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH


  7. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


  8. LOOSEN ADJUSTING NUT

      *2 Adjusting Nut

      Remove the lock nut and loosen the adjusting nut.

      Note

      If the lock nut is removed or loosened, replace the lock nut with a new one (for TMMK Made).

  9. SEPARATE NO. 4 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. for TMC, TMMR Made:

        Separate the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. for TMMK Made:

        Separate the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly from the parking brake control pedal assembly as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn back the floor carpet.

    2. B000JNL

      Remove the clip from the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    3. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, and separate the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

    4. B000ILT

      Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.

    5. B000HW0

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and parking brake control pedal assembly.
