VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM TRC OFF Indicator Light Remains ON

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) is connected to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication.

Pressing the VSC OFF switch turns off TRC, and pressing and holding this switch turns off TRC and VSC. If TRC control is turned off, the TRC OFF indicator light illuminates (except Multi-information Display (Color Type)) or the TRC OFF message will be displayed on the multi-information display (for Multi-information Display (Color Type)).

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (TRC/VSC OFF Mode)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Select the Data List using the GTS.

  5. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Perform an Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the GTS (except Multi-information Display (Color Type)).

    3. Perform an Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the GTS (for Multi-information Display (Color Type)).

    4. Check the combination meter assembly.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - VSC OFF SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the A97 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the E47 VSC OFF switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A97-9 (CSW) - E47-6 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A97-9 (CSW) or E47-6 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E47-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the A97 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the E136 VSC OFF switch (combination switch assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A97-9 (CSW) - E136-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A97-9 (CSW) or E136-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E136-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
