SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. Temporarily install the shift lever assembly to the body with the 4 bolts.

    2. A01M2RBN02

      Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. w/o Smart Entry and Start System:


      1. Engage the 5 clamps and connect the wire harness to the shift lever assembly.

      2. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      3. Connect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      4. Connect the transmission control switch connector.

    4. w/ Smart Entry and Start System:


      1. Engage the 5 clamps and connect the wire harness to the shift lever assembly.

      2. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      3. Connect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      4. Connect the transmission control switch connector.

  2. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Temporarily install the shift lever assembly to the body with the 4 bolts.

    2. A01LW9VN03

      Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. w/o Smart Entry and Start System:


      1. Engage the 5 clamps and connect the wire harness to the shift lever assembly.

      2. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      3. Connect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      4. Connect the transmission control switch connector.

    4. w/ Smart Entry and Start System:


      1. Engage the 5 clamps and connect the wire harness to the shift lever assembly.

      2. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      3. Connect the indicator light wire sub-assembly connector.

      4. Connect the transmission control switch connector.

  3. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the nut of the transmission control cable assembly 180° counterclockwise. While holding the nut in place, push in the stopper until it clicks twice.

    2. Install the outer part of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly. Check that the spring is positioned at "A" and push in the stopper.

      Note


      • If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

      • Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely locked.

    3. A01LWQQ

      Confirm that the shift lever is in N, and then install the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • Securely install the end of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

      • Install the end of the transmission control cable assembly so that its adjustment lock section is on the driver side.

  4. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01LWHD

      Turn the shift lever knob sub-assembly clockwise to install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  5. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback, Wagon)

  7. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION
