DESCRIPTION

The ECM communicates with the generator assembly via LIN communication. If a LIN communication error is detected, the ECM stores this DTC.

    1. Check the charging system.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CHARGING SYSTEM

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - GENERATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the B186 ECM connector.

    2. Disconnect the B184 generator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B186-61 (LIN) - B184-2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B186-61 (LIN) or B184-2 (LIN) - body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
