PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read the Precautions thoroughly before servicing.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR KNOB

  7. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 ION GENERATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Dropped No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly cannot be used.

    • Do not subject the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly to strong impacts, as its case is easily dented and scratched.

      Detach the claw and guide.

    2. B001A1K

      Remove the 2 nuts.

    3. B001A4C

      Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly with air duct sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the claw and remove the air duct sub-assembly from the No. 1 ion generator sub-assembly.
