REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the rear seat airbag assembly LH to the rear seatback plate LH with 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Attach the harness clamp to the rear seatback plate LH.

    3. Install the rear seatback plate LH to the rear seatback assembly together with the rear seat airbag assembly LH with 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    4. Attach the airbag connector to the frame of the bench type rear seatback pad.

    5. Connect the bracket of the bench type rear seatback cover with a new nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      Note

      After the bench type rear seatback cover is installed, make sure the bench type rear seatback cover bracket is not twisted.

      *1 Hog Ring Pliers
      *2 Hog Ring

      Using hog ring pliers, install the bench type rear seatback cover to the bench type rear seatback pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

  2. INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

  5. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
