ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM Traction Control Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter via CAN communication.

Pressing the combination switch (traction control switch) turns off TRC operation. If TRC operation is turned off, the TRC OFF indicator light will come on.

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output Click here.

  2. CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED


    1. Check if the skid control ECU connector is securely connected.

      OK
      The connector is securely connected.

    NG

    CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU CORRECTLY

    OK

  3. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (TRC/VSC OFF MODE)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Select the Data List on the intelligent tester Click here.

    4. Check the indicator light and mode condition on the intelligent tester changes according to combination switch (traction control switch) operation.

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (TRC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT)


    1. Select the Active Test on the intelligent tester Click here.

  5. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Inspect the combination switch (traction control switch) Click here.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION SWITCH)


    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the combination switch (traction control switch) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A61-8 (CSW) - H72-7 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A61-8 (CSW) or H72-7 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H72-14 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
