  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Click here.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT

    Click here

  6. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

    Click here

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

      Detach the connector clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver release the airbag connector lock.

    3. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the front passenger airbag assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  9. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the front passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      Remove the 2 screws.

      *1 Hook (A)
      *2 Hook (B)

      Detach the 5 hooks (A).

    3. Detach the 5 hooks (B) to remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.
