STEERING GEAR(w/o VGRS) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT

      *a Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks on the power steering link and intermediate shaft.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque:
      35 N*m  { 360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the power steering link and rack housing bracket to the front frame with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      70 N*m  { 714 kgf*cm, 52 ft.*lbf }

    2. for LHD:

      Connect the 3 connectors and attach the 3 clips.

    3. for RHD:

      Connect the 3 connectors and attach the 2 clips.

  3. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Connect the tie rod LH to the steering knuckle with the nut.

      Torque:
      60 N*m  { 612 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install a new clip.

  4. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  5. CONNECT STEERING SLIDING WITH SHAFT YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  7. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

    Click here

  9. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS

    Torque:
    140 N*m  { 1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf }

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  11. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER

  12. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  14. CHECK SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM

  15. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT

  16. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING

  17. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA

  18. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

  19. INITIALIZE ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR AND CALIBRATE TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT
