INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to the smart entry and start system (for Entry Function) precaution Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (ENGINE SWITCH)


    1. Using the GTS, perform the Active Test Click here.

      Entry & Start
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Power/Engine SW Light Engine switch illumination ON/OFF -
      OK
      Engine switch illumination illuminates.

    NG

    INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH Click here

    OK

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Click here

  2. INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH


    1. Remove the engine switch Click here.

    2. Inspect the engine switch Click here.


    NG

    REPLACE ENGINE SWITCH Click here

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU])


    1. Disconnect the I32 engine switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the B75 certification ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I32-9 (SWIL) - B75-19 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      I32-6 (AGND) - B75-24 (AGND)
      I32-9 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I32-6 (AGND) - Body ground

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
