ECD SYSTEM (w/o DPF) Injector Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The injector driver drives the injectors at high speeds with a high-voltage DC/DC converter. The ECM constantly monitors the injector driver and stops the engine if an abnormal condition is detected.

      (to injector driver)

      Disconnect the injector driver connectors.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      B49-2 (+B) - B49-3 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    3. Reconnect the injector driver connectors.

    NG
    OK
  2. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (EDU)

    1. Inspect the No. 1 integration relay (EDU) Click here.

    NG
    OK
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (EDU) - INJECTOR DRIVER)

    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect the injector driver connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B49-2 (+B) - 10A-8 Always Below 1 Ω
      B49-3 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      B49-2 (+B) or 10A-8 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the injector driver connector.

    5. Reinstall the No. 1 integration relay.

    NG
    OK
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - ECM)

    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B72-44 (IREL) - 10A-7 Always Below 1 Ω
B72-44 (IREL) or 10A-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    5. Reinstall the No. 1 integration relay.

    NG
    OK
