RADIATOR(for Automatic Transaxle) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  5. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

      Remove the 7 clips and radiator support opening cover.

  6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

  7. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BUMPER ABSORBER

      Remove the 2 clips.

    2. A004TE9

      Remove the 8 bolts.

    3. Detach the 2 hooks of the front lower bumper absorber from the installation holes on the body and remove the front lower bumper absorber.

  8. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

      Remove the 11 clips and engine under cover.

  9. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

    Click here

  11. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  12. REMOVE BATTERY INSULATOR

  13. REMOVE BATTERY

  14. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  15. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

  16. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR BRACKET (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

  18. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

      Detach the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the oil cooler.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and oil cooler assembly.

  19. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE BRACKET

      Remove the bolt, nut and radiator grille bracket.

  20. REMOVE HORN ASSEMBLY


    1. A004RWT

      Disconnect the 2 horn connectors.

    2. Remove the bolt and horn.

  21. DISCONNECT AMBIENT THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the ambient thermistor.

  22. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR RH

  24. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.

  25. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions.

    2. A004OOS

      Remove the 4 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.

  26. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  27. DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  28. REMOVE CONDENSER ASSEMBLY WITH RECEIVER

    Click here

  29. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Detach the clamp and remove the No. 3 water by-pass hose.

    2. A004U81

      Disconnect the 3 connectors and detach the clamp.

  30. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER HOSE CLAMP BRACKET

      Disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket.

    2. Detach the 2 hose clamps from the No. 2 by-pass water hose.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket from the radiator support.

  31. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER

  32. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

      w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch:

      Disconnect the hood lock courtesy switch connector and detach the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the hood lock control cable.

      Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock.

  33. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 bolts and hood lock support sub-assembly.

  34. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A004RKA

      Detach the hose clamp and remove the No. 1 radiator hose.

  35. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

  36. REMOVE INTERCOOLER AIR HOSE


    1. A004OGN

      Detach the clamp.

    2. Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.

    3. A004S4T

      Loosen the hose clamps.

    4. Disconnect the intercooler air hose from the No. 1 air tube and intercooler.

  37. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR HOSE


    1. A004S1Y

      Loosen the 2 clamps.

    2. Remove the No. 3 air hose from the No. 2 air tube and throttle body.

  38. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the No. 2 vacuum transmitting hose.

    2. A004TXZ

      Detach the 2 hose clips, and then disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses.

    3. A004QOC

      Push the side of the radiator with intercooler towards the transaxle as shown in the illustration, and lift the radiator with intercooler upward out of the vehicle to remove it.

      Note

      Do not apply any excessive force to the cooler condenser pipe when removing the radiator assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 radiator lower support cushions.

  39. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE


    1. Disconnect the air temperature sensor connector.

      Loosen the hose clamp.

    3. Remove the bolt and No. 2 air tube.

  40. REMOVE OIL COOLER HOSE TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A004MKY

      Remove the bolt and detach the 3 clamps.

    2. Detach the 2 clips, disconnect the 2 hoses of the oil cooler hose tube from the radiator and remove the oil cooler hose tube.

  41. REMOVE NO. 3 VACUUM TRANSMITTING PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)


    1. A004TUW

      Remove the 3 bolts, detach the clamp from the lower radiator support, and then remove the No. 3 vacuum transmitting pipe.

  42. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  43. REMOVE INTERCOOLER ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  44. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

      Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud.
