FUEL TANK REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY


  2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

  3. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK RETURN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  5. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Combustion Type Power Heater)

    Click here

  6. REMOVE TANK SUCTION TUBE SUPPORT

  7. REMOVE FUEL PUMP GAUGE RETAINER

    Click here

  8. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  9. DRAIN FUEL

  10. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR

      Remove the 3 bolts and No. 1 fuel tank protector.

  12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER RH


    1. A004RNO

      Remove the clip, 2 grommets and rear floor side member cover RH.

  13. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK TO FILLER PIPE HOSE

      Loosen the hose clamp bolt, and then disconnect the fuel tank to filler pipe hose from the fuel tank assembly.

  14. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY

      Loosen the hose clamp bolt, and then disconnect the breather hose.

    2. A004R7D

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the parking brake cable.

    3. A004TW7

      Disconnect the fuel tank return tube sub-assembly Click here.

    4. A004UB9

      Disconnect the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly Click here.

    5. A004R5N

      w/ Combustion Type Power Heater:

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 fuel tank main tube sub-assembly.

    6. Using an engine lifter, support the fuel tank assembly.

    7. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 fuel tank bands.

    8. Lower the engine lifter to remove the fuel tank assembly.

      Note


      • Do not drop the fuel tank assembly.

      • When removing the fuel tank assembly, tilt it slightly to prevent it from interfering with the suspension arm or other surrounding parts.

  15. REMOVE FUEL TANK CUSHION

      *1 No. 1 Fuel Tank Cushion
      *2 No. 2 Fuel Tank Cushion

      Remove the No. 1 fuel tank cushion and 3 No. 2 fuel tank cushions.

  16. REMOVE FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A004SK8

      w/o Combustion Type Power Heater:

      Detach the 2 clamps and remove the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly.

    2. A004RUH

      w/ Combustion Type Power Heater:

      Detach the 2 clamps and remove the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly and No. 2 fuel tank main tube sub-assembly.

  17. REMOVE FUEL TANK RETURN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A004TSI

      Detach the 2 clamps and remove the fuel tank return tube sub-assembly.
