Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT
Tech Tips
All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Spare Tire)
REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)
REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)
Detach the 2 clips and remove the deck trim side board LH.
REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

Detach the clip, fastening tape and remove the battery service hole cover LH.
PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.
DISABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION
Disable the autoaway/return function by changing the customize parameter Click here.
Note
Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the autoaway/return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
Tech Tips
Performing the above operation causes the autoaway/return function to be disabled when the power switch is turned off.
Turn the power switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully retract and tilt up the steering column assembly.
Turn the power switch off.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
Disconnect the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
Using moulding remover D, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument side panel LH.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ORNAMENT

Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
Using moulding remover B, detach the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel ornament.
Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the switch base hole cover from the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Remove the bolt.
Remove the screw <C>.
Detach the 5 clips and claw and remove the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
Disconnect each connector.
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 screws.
Detach the 2 claws as shown in the illustration and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3.
Disconnect each connector and detach each wire harness clamp.
REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
When storing the driver side knee airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
Check that the power switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Remove the 4 bolts.
Detach the clip and remove the driver side knee airbag assembly.
Detach the claw to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly from the driver side knee airbag assembly.
Using a screwdriver release the airbag connector lock.
Disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
Remove the 2 clips.
Detach the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
Disconnect 2 connectors.
REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
Remove the 4 screws and combination meter assembly.
Detach the 2 claws and open the connector cover.
Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:
for 5-Passenger with Ottoman:
w/ Disc Player:
REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 bolts.
Detach the 6 clips and pull out the multi-media module receiver assembly with bracket.
Disconnect the connectors and remove the multimedia module receiver assembly with bracket.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
Using moulding remover D, detach the 6 clips and remove the instrument side panel RH.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH ASSEMBLY
Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
Using moulding remover B, detach the 12 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly.
Disconnect each connector.

REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL

Put protective tape around the lower instrument panel.
Using a screwdriver, detach the clip and 2 claws to remove the lower instrument panel.
REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Check that the power switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Remove the 3 bolts.
Detach the claw to remove the front passenger side knee airbag assembly.
Using a screwdriver release the airbag connector lock.
Using a screwdriver, disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
Remove the 5 screws <C> and glove compartment door assembly.
Disconnect each connector and detach each wire harness clamp.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Detach the 10 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY
Remove the 4 bolts.
Move the accessory meter assembly in the direction of the arrow in the illustration.
Disconnect all the connectors and detach the clamp.
Remove the accessory meter assembly.
REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

Pull the upper part of the front pillar garnish LH toward the inside of the cabin and detach the 2 clips.
Tech Tips
Make the front pillar garnish LH hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.

Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish LH.
Note
Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and have no damage.
Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.
Tech Tips
Tape the tips of the needle-nose pliers before use.
Pull the front pillar garnish LH to detach the guide and remove it.

Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.
Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
Note
Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish LH is removed.
REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Detach the 2 clips and 7 claws.
Remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
Note
Do not touch the cone of the speaker.
Remove the 2 bolts.

Disconnect the connector and remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.
REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Detach the 2 clips and 7 claws.
Remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
Note
Do not touch the cone of the speaker.
Remove the 2 bolts.

Disconnect the connector and remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.
REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER HOLE COVER
Detach the 4 clips, claw and clamp and remove the No. 1 speaker hole cover.
REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
Note
Do not touch the cone of the speaker.
Remove the 2 bolts.

Disconnect the connector and remove the front No. 3 speaker assembly.
REMOVE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER (w/ G-BOOK System)
Remove the bolt and nut.
Disconnect each connector and remove the telematics transceiver.
REMOVE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tire Pressure Warning System)
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the bolt and tire pressure warning ECU and receiver.
REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect each connector and detach each wire harness clamp.
Detach the 2 claws and disconnect the cooler thermistor.
Remove the 8 bolts <A> and 2 bolts <E> and nut <F>.
Detach the 5 clips and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY
Detach the 5 claws and remove the 5 No. 3 instrument panel stays.
