VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM (for Vacuum Brake Booster), Diagnostic DTC:C1436

DTC Code DTC Name
C1436 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor via the CAN communication system.

If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the CAN communication system, DTCs U0123 (malfunction in CAN communication with the yaw rate sensor) and U0124 (malfunction in CAN communication with the acceleration sensor) are stored.

These DTCs are also stored when calibration is not completed.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1436

Either condition is met:

  1. With the vehicle stationary, the yaw rate and acceleration sensor output value is not 0 deg/s.

  2. An abnormal comparison value.

When replacing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor, perform calibration Click here.

Tech Tips

When DTC U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 is output together with DTC C1436, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by DTC U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 first Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (YAW RATE SENSOR)

    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Data List.

      ABS/VSC/TRC
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
Yaw Rate Sensor Yaw rate sensor/ Min.: -128°/s, Max.: 127°/s

      Right turn: -128 to 0°/s

      Left turn: 0 to 127°/s
