SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM Remote Control System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The multiplex network master switch receives remote control signals from the door key cylinder, the electrical key and the entry lock switch. When the sliding roof is operated by a remote control signal, sliding roof operation signals are input via BEAN communication and sliding roof motor starts moving.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • The sliding roof key-linked function and transmitter-linked function can be customized. Make sure that both functions are ON Click here.

  • The sliding roof entry lock switch-linked function can be customized with power window entry lock switch-linked function. Make sure that this function is ON Click here.

  • When the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly is reinstalled or replaced, the sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly must be initialized Click here.

  • Since the sliding roof system has functions that use BEAN communication, first confirm that there is no malfunction in the communication system by inspecting the BEAN communication functions in accordance with the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure. Then, conduct the following inspection procedure.

  3. CHECK KEY-LINKED FUNCTION


    1. Check the key-linked function (driver door only).


      1. Insert the key into the driver side door key lock cylinder, and turn the key to the UNLOCK position for approximately 1.5 seconds or more. Check that the windows start going down and the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE OPEN/TILT UP operation). Then release the key and check that the windows and sliding roof stops moving.

        Tech Tips

        Turn and hold the key to the UNLOCK position 2.5 seconds or more, then the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE OPEN/TILT UP operation).

      2. Insert the key into the driver side door key lock cylinder, and turn the key to the LOCK position for approximately 1.5 seconds or more. Check that the windows start going up and the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE CLOSE/TILT DOWN operation). Then release the key and check that the windows and sliding roof stops moving.

        Tech Tips

        Turn and hold the key to the LOCK position 2.5 seconds or more, then the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE CLOSE/TILT DOWN operation).

  5. CHECK TRANSMITTER-LINKED FUNCTION


    1. Check the transmitter-linked function.


      1. Make sure that the electrical key is not in the cabin, all doors closed.

      2. Hold down the transmitter UNLOCK switch 2.4 seconds or more. Check that the windows start going down and the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE OPEN/TILT UP operation). Then release the switch and check that the windows and sliding roof stops moving.

        Tech Tips

        Hold down the transmitter UNLOCK switch 3.4 seconds or more, then the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE OPEN/TILT UP operation).

      3. Hold down the transmitter LOCK switch 2.4 seconds or more. Check that the windows start going up and the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE CLOSE/TILT DOWN operation). Then release the switch and check that the windows and sliding roof stops moving.

        Tech Tips

        Hold down the transmitter LOCK switch 3.4 seconds or more, then the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE CLOSE/TILT DOWN operation).

  7. CHECK ENTRY LOCK SWITCH-LINKED FUNCTION


    1. Check the entry lock switch-linked function.


      1. Press and hold the entry lock switch for approximately 3.0 seconds or more. Check that the windows start going up and the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE CLOSE/TILT DOWN operation). Then release the entry lock switch and check that the windows and sliding roof stops moving.

        Tech Tips

        Press and hold the entry lock switch 4.0 seconds or more, then the sliding roof starts moving (SLIDE CLOSE/TILT DOWN operation).
