B1635/24 Front Passenger Side Rear Airbag Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The front passenger side - side collision sensor circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag assembly (passenger side) and curtain shield airbag assembly (passenger side)) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor (passenger side) , and rear airbag sensor (passenger side).

The side airbag sensor (passenger side) and rear airbag sensor (passenger side) detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1635/24 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the rear airbag sensor (passenger side) circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK REAR AIRBAG SENSOR (PASSENGER SIDE)


    1. A01631QE01

      Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Interchange the rear airbag sensor (driver side) with the rear airbag sensor (passenger side) and connect the connectors.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    5. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    6. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Click here.

    7. Turn the engine switch off.

    8. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    9. Check for DTCs Click here.
