ROOF HEADLINING (for Standard Body) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Click here.


  1. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

  3. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration.

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  5. PLACE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY IN VEHICLE

    1. Place the roof headlining assembly into the vehicle through the front side.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the roof headlining assembly when placing it in the cabin.

      Tech Tips

      Place the roof headlining assembly into the vehicle so that the windshield can be installed.

  6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS

  7. INSTALL OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA (w/ Lane Keeping Assist System)

    Note


    • Do not touch the camera lens when removing or installing the camera.

    • Do not use a camera which has been dropped or subjected to an impact.

    • If the camera is not installed securely, the system may not operate properly. Therefore, be sure to install the camera securely.

    • Push the bracket to attach the clip.

    • Allow the wire harness to hang down.

    • Do not press the sensor, as it may become deformed.


    1. Temporarily install the object recognition camera with the clip.

    2. Install the 3 bolts in alphabetical order.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }

    3. Attach the claw to connect the connector clamp.

    4. Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    5. Connect the 3 connectors.

    6. Return the roof headlining to its original position.

  8. INSTALL INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR COVER

  10. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY


    1. w/o Sliding Roof, w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Attach the hook, 12 claws, 3 fasteners and 4 clips to install the roof headlining assembly.

    2. w/o Sliding Roof, w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Attach the hook, 12 claws, 2 fasteners and 4 clips to install the roof headlining assembly.

    3. w/ Sliding Roof, w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Attach the hook, 12 claws, 10 fasteners and 4 clips to install the roof headlining assembly.

    4. w/ Sliding Roof, w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:

      Attach the hook, 12 claws, 8 fasteners and 4 clips to install the roof headlining assembly.

      Connect each connector and each wire harness clamp.

    6. Connect the roof wire connectors and attach each wire harness clamp.

  11. INSTALL VISOR HOLDER

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure to install the visor holder on the other side.


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the visor holder.

    2. Push in the visor holder and turn it approximately 45° as shown in the illustration.

  12. INSTALL VISOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the visor assembly with the 2 screws.

    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the visor bracket cover.

  15. INSTALL ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Use the same procedure for all the assist grips.


    1. Assemble the assist grip sub-assembly, 2 clips and 2 covers as shown in the illustration.

    2. Attach the 2 clips to install the assist grip sub-assembly.

  16. INSTALL COAT HOOK (w/o Rear Cooler)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure to install the hook on the other side.


    1. Install the coat hook with the screw.

  17. INSTALL ROOF SIDE REGISTER BEZEL LH (w/ Rear Cooler)


    1. Attach the claw to install the roof side register bezel LH.

    2. Install the screw.

  18. INSTALL ROOF SIDE REGISTER BEZEL RH (w/ Rear Cooler)

  19. INSTALL REAR VANITY LIGHT ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure to install the vanity light assembly on the other side.


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Attach the claw to install the vanity light assembly.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

    4. Attach the 4 claws to install the lens.

  20. INSTALL ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)


    1. w/o Sliding Roof:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Attach the 2 hooks, 6 clips and 2 claws to install the roof console box assembly.

      3. Install the 2 screws.

    2. w/ Sliding Roof:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Attach the 2 hooks and 6 clips to install the roof console box assembly.

      3. Install the 2 screws.

  21. INSTALL SPOT LIGHT LENS (w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System)


    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the spot light lens.

  22. INSTALL SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System)


    1. Connect the connector.

      Attach the 4 claws to install the spot light assembly.

  23. INSTALL MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the 2 connectors.

    2. Attach the 2 clips to install the map light assembly.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

    4. Attach the 2 claws to close the 2 covers.

  24. INSTALL INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

    1. Slide the shoulder belt anchor cover LH in the direction shown in the illustration and attach the 6 claws to install it.

  30. INSTALL CENTER UPPER PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the center upper pillar garnish LH.

    2. Attach the guide and claw to install the center upper pillar garnish LH.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

  31. INSTALL CENTER UPPER PILLAR GARNISH RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  32. INSTALL CENTER LOWER PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Attach the 2 claws and 6 clips to install the center lower pillar garnish LH.

  34. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Attach the 3 clips.

    2. Attach the 7 claws to install the rear door scuff plate LH.

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  36. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

    1. Attach the guide.

    2. Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nose pliers and install it to the front pillar garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the tips of the needle-nose pliers before use.

      Note

      After installing the front pillar garnish LH, make sure that the lip of the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH is not pinched.

    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the cowl side trim board LH.

  48. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

      for LHD:

      Install the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

      Note

      If the cowl top ventilator louver RH is not properly installed, water may leak into the engine room and cause malfunctions. Therefore, make sure the cowl top ventilator louver RH is installed properly.

      for RHD:

      Install the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.

      Note

      If the cowl top ventilator louver LH is not properly installed, water may leak into the engine room and cause malfunctions. Therefore, make sure the cowl top ventilator louver LH is installed properly.
