REAR SEATBACK HEATER (for Power Seat) REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH


    1. A01GM4S

      for LHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

    2. A01GI9P

      for RHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Detach the 2 front hooks of the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly.

      Note


      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (A) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.

      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly LH, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

    2. Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly LH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear seatback spring assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  6. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly LH.

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Disconnect the seat belt from the shoulder belt guide.

      Remove the bolt and pull out the junction block.

    5. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      Detach the 7 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

      Detach the 3 pieces of fastening tape and using a clip remover, detach the clip.

    8. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle body.

    9. Disconnect the rear seatback assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly and lift the rear seatback assembly LH upwards to remove it.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  7. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH

  8. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE LH


    1. A01GNCA

      Remove the 3 screws and rear seat shoulder belt guide LH.

  9. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 pins and rear seat headrest assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear seat headrest assembly on the other side.

  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

      Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 rear seat headrest supports.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear seat headrest support on the other side.

  11. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. Detach the 2 claws to remove the rear No. 1 seat headrest adjuster sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear No. 1 seat headrest adjuster sub-assembly on the other side.

  12. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GKJI

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and position control ECU assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the position control ECU assembly on the other side.

  13. REMOVE REAR SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH


    1. A01GIJ7

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seat climate control ECU LH.

  14. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the guide to remove the seat heater control sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the seat heater control sub-assembly on the other side.

  15. REMOVE REAR SEAT COVER CAP LH


    1. A01GIOB

      Detach the 5 claws to remove the rear seat cover cap LH.

  16. REMOVE REAR SEAT LOCK BASE LH


    1. A01GICD

      Remove the 3 screws and rear seat lock base LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD LH


    1. Remove the nut and detach the seatback cover bracket.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Detach the 8 hooks and remove the 19 hog rings and rear seatback cover with pad LH from the rear seatback spring assembly LH.

      Remove the 10 hog rings and separate type rear seatback cover LH from the rear seatback pad LH.
