Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for LHD and RHD vehicles.
The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
for LHD:
Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.
for RHD:
Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH
Detach the 2 front hooks of the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly.
Note
If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (A) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.
When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly LH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear seatback spring assembly LH.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
Operate the ottoman switch to move the ottoman to the return position.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

Put protective tape as shown in the illustration.
Remove the 2 seat cushion cover hooks.
Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the seat cushion ottoman part.
Lift the corners of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to disconnect the 2 rear seat cushion lock hooks.
Note
If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (cushion assembly corners) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.
When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.
Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly RH from the rear seatback spring assembly RH.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Disconnect the connector.
REMOVE REAR CENTER SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (w/ Center Seat)
Detach the front hook of the rear center seat cushion assembly from the vehicle body.
Note
The cushion frame deforms easily. To avoid deforming the rear center seat cushion assembly, place your hands near the hook, and then pull up on the rear center seat cushion assembly.
Detach the rear hook of the rear center seat cushion assembly to remove the rear center seat cushion assembly from the center seatback frame sub-assembly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX (w/ Rear Console Box)
REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly LH.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Disconnect the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly from the shoulder belt guide.
Remove the bolt and pull out the junction block.
Disconnect the 2 connectors.
Detach the 7 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

Detach the 3 pieces of fastening tape and using a clip remover, detach the clip.
Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.
Disconnect the rear seatback assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly and lift the rear seatback assembly LH upwards to remove it.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly RH.
Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove the seat belt from the shoulder belt guide.
Remove the bolt and pull out the junction block.
Disconnect the 3 connectors.
Detach the 6 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.
Remove the nut, detach the 2 claws and disconnect the air hose.
Detach the 3 pieces of fastening tape and using a clip remover, detach the clip.
Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.
Disconnect the rear seatback assembly RH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly and lift the rear seatback assembly RH upwards to remove it.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER ARMREST ASSEMBLY (w/ Center Seat)
Lower the rear seat center armrest assembly.
Raise the rear center seat headrest assembly.
Detach the 2 clips.
Detach the hook by lowering the rear seat armrest hole board, and remove it.
Remove the 2 bolts, nut and rear seat center armrest assembly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Disconnect the 2 connectors.
REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate LH.

Using moulding remover D, detach the 4 clips.
Detach the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
Detach the 6 claws and remove the rear seat side garnish LH.
REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH

Pull the inner roof side garnish LH away from the body and detach the 4 clips (do not detach clip A).
Detach the 2 claws of the guide, and pull the inner roof side garnish LH in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
Tech Tips
Clip A remains attached to the body.
Remove clip A from the vehicle body.
REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY
except 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
Using a moulding remover D, detach the 4 claws and remove the 3 belt guides.
for 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
Using a moulding remover D, detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 belt guides.
except 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
Detach the 2 clips of the package tray trim panel. Then pass the 3 rear seat belt floor anchors through the package tray trim panel assembly.
for 4-Passenger with Ottoman:
Detach the 2 clips of the package tray trim panel. Then pass the 2 rear seat belt floor anchors through the package tray trim panel assembly.
w/o Rear Cooler:
Remove the package tray trim panel assembly.
w/ Rear Cooler:
Disconnect the solar sensor connector and remove the package tray trim panel assembly.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
Remove the 4 bolts and 4 rope hook assemblies.
REMOVE ROPE HOOK
Remove the 4 rope hooks by pushing the claws in the direction of the arrows in the illustration.
REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH

Remove the clip.
Remove the deck trim side board LH.
w/o Spear Tire:
Detach the clip and deck trim side board LH.
REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH

Remove the clip.

Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 luggage compartment light assembly.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK (w/o Rear Cooler)
Detach the No. 2 luggage compartment trim hook.
REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler)
Detach the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 cooler cover.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY FRONT
w/o Rear Cooler:
Remove the 4 claws, 3 clips and front luggage compartment trim cover.
w/ Rear Cooler:
Remove the 4 claws, 5 clips and front luggage compartment trim cover.
REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/o Spare Tire)
REMOVE TOOL BOX (w/o Spare Tire)
Remove the 2 clips and tool box.
REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
Remove the 3 clips.
Detach the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH

Remove the 2 clips.
Detach the claw and luggage compartment trim cover assembly LH.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH

Remove the 2 clips.
Detach the claw and luggage compartment trim cover assembly RH.
REMOVE ROOF SIDE NO. 2 AIR DUCT LH
Remove the clip.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the roof side No. 2 air duct LH.
REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSEMBLY LH
Using a screwdriver, pull out the locking button in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration to release the lock, and disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
w/ Tension Reducer System:
Disconnect the tension reducer connector.
Remove the bolt.
Detach the claw and remove the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly LH.
REMOVE AIR HOSE
Disconnect the air hose connector.
Remove the 2 hose clamps.
Remove the bolt and 2 hose clamps.
for RHD:
Remove the bolt and hose clamp.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the air hose.
