REAR POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Ottoman) REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • for Power Seat:

    Before removing the rear seat, make sure to move the seat 37 mm (1.46 in.) from the rearmost position.

  • for Ottoman:

    Before removing the rear seat, make sure to move the seat 17 mm (0.67 in.) from the rearmost position.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH


    1. A01GM4S

      for LHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

    2. A01GI9P

      for RHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Detach the 2 front hooks of the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly.

      Note


      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (A) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.

      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

    2. Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly LH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly LH from the rear seatback spring assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    3. Disconnect the connector.

  5. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    2. Operate the ottoman switch to move the ottoman to the return position.

    3. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

      Put protective tape as shown in the illustration.

    5. Remove the 2 seat cushion cover hooks.

    6. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the seat cushion ottoman part.

    7. Lift the corners of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to disconnect the 2 rear seat cushion lock hooks.

      Note


      • If the areas close to the insertion location of the rear seat cushion lock hooks (cushion assembly corners) are not lifted straight up, the cushion spring may become deformed.

      • When lifting the rear seat cushion assembly, lift it quickly so that force is applied directly to the hooks. Do not lift it slowly.

    8. Detach the rear hook of the rear seat cushion assembly RH to remove the rear seat cushion assembly RH from the rear seatback spring assembly RH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    9. Disconnect the connector.

  6. REMOVE REAR CENTER SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (w/ Center Seat)

      Detach the front hook of the rear center seat cushion assembly from the vehicle body.

      Note

      The cushion frame deforms easily. To avoid deforming the rear center seat cushion assembly, place your hands near the hook, and then pull up on the rear center seat cushion assembly.

    2. Detach the rear hook of the rear center seat cushion assembly to remove the rear center seat cushion assembly from the center seatback frame sub-assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX (w/ Rear Console Box)

  8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01GMB3

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly LH.

    2. A01GI1OE03

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Disconnect the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly from the shoulder belt guide.

      Remove the bolt and pull out the junction block.

    5. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

      Detach the 7 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

      Detach the 3 pieces of fastening tape and using a clip remover, detach the clip.

    8. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.

    9. Disconnect the rear seatback assembly LH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly and lift the rear seatback assembly LH upwards to remove it.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  9. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH


    1. A01GNJU

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the anchor part of the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly RH.

    2. A01GN5BE01

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and open the 2 caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guide.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Remove the seat belt from the shoulder belt guide.

      Remove the bolt and pull out the junction block.

    5. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    6. A01GLLP

      Detach the 6 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 3 connectors.

      Remove the nut, detach the 2 claws and disconnect the air hose.

    8. Detach the 3 pieces of fastening tape and using a clip remover, detach the clip.

    9. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the air duct from the vehicle.

    10. Disconnect the rear seatback assembly RH from the rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly and lift the rear seatback assembly RH upwards to remove it.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  10. REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER ARMREST ASSEMBLY (w/ Center Seat)


    1. Lower the rear seat center armrest assembly.

    2. A01GNG6

      Raise the rear center seat headrest assembly.

    3. A01GO13E04

      Detach the 2 clips.

    4. Detach the hook by lowering the rear seat armrest hole board, and remove it.

      Remove the 2 bolts, nut and rear seat center armrest assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    6. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

  11. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GKGY

      w/ Center Seat:

      Remove the nut and disconnect the anchor part of the rear center seat outer belt assembly.

    2. A01GJM1

      Remove the 4 bolts, nut and rear No. 2 seat adjuster assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    3. Disconnect the air duct from the vehicle body.

  12. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT INNER ANCHOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the nut and rear seat belt inner anchor bracket assembly LH.

  13. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER LH

      Remove the rear No. 2 seat cushion pad.

    2. A01GHN7

      Detach the 2 wire harness clamps and disconnect the 2 connectors.

    3. A01GMDK

      Remove the 2 screws.

    4. Detach the 2 claws to remove the seat climate control controller LH.

  14. REMOVE REAR SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH


    1. A01GJLG

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. A01GMYO

      Remove the 3 nuts and rear seat climate control blower LH.

  15. REMOVE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH


    1. A01GLWP

      Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and rear seat airbag assembly RH.

  16. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 bolts, nut and rear No. 1 seat adjuster assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    2. Disconnect the air duct from the vehicle body.

  17. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT INNER ANCHOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Install the rear seat belt inner anchor bracket assembly RH with the nut.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
  18. REMOVE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL CONTROLLER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  19. REMOVE REAR SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE REAR SEAT RECLINING ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts and rear seat reclining adjuster assembly RH.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  21. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 pins and rear seat headrest assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear seat headrest assembly on the other side.

  22. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT


    1. A01GKYP

      Detach the 4 claws to remove the 2 rear seat headrest supports.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the rear seat headrest support on the other side.

  23. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT HEADREST ADJUSTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. Detach the 2 claws to remove the rear No. 1 seat headrest adjuster sub-assembly.

  24. REMOVE REAR SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE LH


    1. A01GNCA

      Remove the 3 screws and rear seat shoulder belt guide LH.

  25. REMOVE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GKJI

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and position control ECU assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the position control ECU assembly on the other side.

  26. REMOVE REAR SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH

    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seat climate control ECU LH.

  27. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the guide and remove the seat heater control sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure to remove the seat heater control sub-assembly on the other side.

  28. REMOVE REAR SEAT COVER CAP LH


    1. A01GIOB

      Detach the 5 claws to remove the rear seat cover cap LH.

  29. REMOVE REAR SEAT LOCK BASE LH


    1. A01GICD

      Remove the 3 screws and rear seat lock base LH.

  30. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD LH


    1. Remove the nut and detach the seatback cover bracket.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Detach the 8 hooks and remove the 19 hog rings and rear seatback cover with pad LH from the rear seatback spring assembly LH.

  39. REMOVE REAR SEAT WIRE RH

    1. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    2. Detach the 11 wire harness clamps to remove the rear seat wire RH.

      Detach the 2 claws to disconnect the 2 air hoses.

    2. Detach the 2 clamps to remove the upper part of the sub seatback plate sub-assembly.
