DESCRIPTION

If the telematics transceiver detects an error in communication between the telematics transceiver and the center airbag sensor assembly as a result of the telematics transceiver self check, this DTC will be stored.

  1. CHECK DTC (AIRBAG SYSTEM)


    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK
      No DTC is output.

    NG

    GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM Click here

  2. CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

  3. CHECK DTC


    1. Check for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again Click here.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the L142 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the L73 center airbag sensor assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L142-22 (GSW) - L73-24 (GSW3) Always Below 1 Ω
      L142-22 (GSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  5. CHECK TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER

      Disconnect the telematics transceiver connector.

      Check the input waveform.


      1. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below. (Check the waveform from the back of the wire harness connector of the telematics transceiver while the center airbag sensor assembly connectors are connected.)

        Tester connection L142-22 (GSW) - Body ground
        Tool setting 5.0 V/DIV., 20 ms/DIV.
        Vehicle condition Engine switch on (IG)

  6. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the center airbag sensor assembly with a known good one Click here.
