STEERING PAD SWITCH INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the 6 pins to install the steering pad switch assembly.

    2. Install the 4 screws.

    3. Attach the clamp and 3 claws.

    4. Connect each connector.

  2. INSTALL STEERING PAD


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. A01GLZUE01

      Connect the horn connector to the steering pad.

    4. Connect the 2 airbag connectors to the steering pad.

      Note


      • When connecting airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      • Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.

    5. Push in the 2 airbag connector locks to connect the 2 airbag connectors.

      Push the steering pad to attach the 3 pins carefully.

      Note


      • Make sure that the pins are securely inserted into the steering holes.

      • Make sure to attach the 2 upper pins first.

      • Make sure that the steering pad is securely installed.

  3. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER

      Attach the claw to install the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover.

  4. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER


    1. A01GMJB

      Attach the claw to install the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover.

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  6. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH


    1. A01GM4S

      Install the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

      Note

      If the cowl top ventilator louver RH is not properly installed, water may leak into the engine room and cause malfunctions. Therefore, make sure the cowl top ventilator louver RH is installed properly.

  7. INSPECT STEERING PAD


    1. Make sure that the horn sounds.
