REAR DOOR LOCK INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL REAR DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the rear door inside locking cable assembly LH.

    2. Attach the 3 claws.

  2. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the rear door lock remote control cable assembly LH.

    2. Attach the claw.

  3. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

      Apply adhesive to the threads of the 5 screws.

    2. Install the rear door lock assembly LH.

    3. Using a T30 'TORX' wrench, install the door lock with the 3 screws labeled A and 2 screws labeled B.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    4. Attach the 2 clamps and connect the 2 connectors.

  4. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    Note

    Be careful not to drop and deform the rear door window regulator.


    1. Install the rear door glass sub-assembly LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips


      • Insert a cloth inside the door panel to prevent the door glass from being scratched.

      • Position the door glass toward the front as much as possible.

    2. Install the hole plug.

  5. INSTALL REAR DOOR QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH

      Install the rear door quarter glass LH together with the rear door quarter window weatherstrip LH in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS RUN LH


    1. Install the rear door glass run LH to the division bar assembly.

  7. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW DIVISION BAR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the rear door window division bar sub-assembly LH with the 2 nuts.

  8. INSTALL REAR DOOR DIVISION BAR BRACKET LOWER LH


    1. Install the 3 nuts and rear door division bar lower bracket LH bracket to the door panel.

  9. INSTALL REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH


    1. Apply new butyl tape to the door.

      Install a new rear door service hole cover LH using the reference points on the rear door panel.

      Tech Tips


      • When installing the service hole cover, pull the links and connectors through the service hole cover.

      • There should be no wrinkles or folds after attaching the service hole cover.

      • After attaching the service hole cover, check the sealing quality.

  10. INSTALL REAR INNER DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP LH


    1. for Long Body:


      1. Install the rear door glass inner weatherstrip LH to the door panel.

    2. for Standard Body:


      1. Install the rear door glass inner weatherstrip LH to the door panel.

  11. INSTALL SIDE TRIM BOARD COVER REAR LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)


    1. Install the rear side trim board cover LH with the 2 screws.

  12. INSTALL NO. 1 AUTO CURTAIN RAIL BRACKET LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)


    1. Attach the clip to install the No. 1 auto curtain rail bracket LH.

  13. INSTALL REAR CURTAIN SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Rear Door Sunshade)


    1. for Standard Body:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Attach the 3 clips to install the rear curtain sub-assembly LH.

      3. Install the 10 screws.

    2. for Long Body:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Attach the 4 clips to install the rear curtain sub-assembly LH.

      3. Install the 10 screws.

  14. INSTALL REAR DOOR NO. 2 FRAME GARNISH LH


    1. Attach the claws and install the rear door No. 2 frame garnish LH.

  15. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH LH


    1. w/o Rear Door Sunshade:


      1. Attach the claws.

      2. Attach the clip to install the rear door frame garnish LH with screw.

    2. w/ Rear Door Sunshade:


      1. Attach the claws.

      2. Attach the 2 clips to install the rear door frame garnish LH.

  16. INSTALL REAR DOOR TRIM COVER LH


    1. Attach the 5 clips to install the rear door trim cover LH.

    2. Install the cushion.

  17. INSTALL REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  18. INSTALL REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL

    1. Install the illumination light with the screw.

    2. Connect the connector.

    3. Attach the 2 clips to install the rear rear power window regulator switch assembly with rear door armrest base panel.

  19. INSTALL REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG LH


    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH.

  20. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  21. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH


    1. A01GM4S

      Install the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

      Note

      Be sure to install the cowl top ventilator louver RH properly. If it is not installed properly, water may enter the engine room and cause malfunctions.
