Either condition is met:


  • "Airbag" is not displayed on "Bus Check".

  • "Center Airbag Sensor Communication Stop Mode" in "DTC Combination Table" applies.


  • Power source or inside of center airbag sensor assembly

  • Center airbag sensor assembly

  • The vehicle is equipped with an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) which includes components such as airbags. Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the Precaution in the SRS Click here.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

      (to Center Airbag Sensor Assembly)

      Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    2. Disconnect the center airbag sensor assembly connector Click here.

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      Note

      When connecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      L73-21 (IG2) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L73-25 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      L73-26 (E2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
