BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY REMOVAL

Note

While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.


  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER


    1. A01GM4S

      for LHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.

    2. A01GI9P

      for RHD:

      Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH

  5. REMOVE BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY COVER

    Note

    Do not remove the cover if planning to reuse the brake control power supply.

      Remove the cover if planning to replace the brake control power supply.

  6. REMOVE BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    Immediately after removing the brake control power supply from the vehicle, there may be an electrical charge left in the internal capacitor. If planning to inspect the inside of the brake control power supply, leave it as is for more than 24 hours (to discharge it) after removing it from the vehicle. Then perform the inspection.

      Remove the 3 nuts and brake control power supply.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE CONTROL POWER SUPPLY BRACKET

      Remove the 4 bolts and 2 brackets.
