The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
Other than areas where instructions are provided, use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
Note
While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
for LHD:
Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.
for RHD:
Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver LH.
PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH
REMOVE REAR WHEEL
REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE
for RH:
Disconnect the sensor connector.
for LH:
Disconnect the sensor connector.
Detach the skid control sensor wire.
Remove the nut and No. 1 skid control sensor clamp from the body.
Disconnect the grommet of the speed sensor wire from the hole of the wheel house.
Except for coil spring type suspension:
Disconnect the rear height control sensor connector (labeled A).
Remove the nut (labeled B) and sensor clamp (labeled C).
Remove the nut and sensor clamp.
Disconnect the pad wear indicator connector.
Remove the bolt and sensor clamp.
Disconnect the connector from the rear speed sensor.
Note
Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.
REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR RH
Remove the bolt and sensor.
Note
The rear speed sensor is easily damaged. When pulling out the rear speed sensor from the rear axle hub RH, do not use excessive force to rotate and remove it.
Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the sensor with a new one.
