REAR SHOCK ABSORBER INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Click here.

  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

    A01GJTX

    1. Install the rear shock absorber on the vehicle by installing the 3 nuts on the suspension support side.

      Torque:
      64 N*m  { 653 kgf*cm, 47 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      When installing the shock absorber, make sure the lower coil spring bottom tip is on the vehicle's front side.

    2. A01GKVB

      Temporarily install the rear shock absorber lower side with a new nut and washer to the axle carrier.

    3. A01GLIVE01

      Tighten the new lock nut.

      Torque:
      27 N*m  { 275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CAP LH

    1. Install the cap with the 3 nuts to the shock absorber.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
  3. CONNECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. A01GI8I

      Connect the control link with a new nut to the axle carrier.

      Torque:
      118 N*m  { 1203 kgf*cm, 87 ft.*lbf }
  4. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

    1. A01GM3R

      Connect the control arm with a new nut to the axle carrier.

      Torque:
      160 N*m  { 1632 kgf*cm, 118 ft.*lbf }
  5. CONNECT REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH

    1. A01GIUZ

      Connect the control arm with a new nut to the axle carrier.

      Torque:
      160 N*m  { 1632 kgf*cm, 118 ft.*lbf }
  6. STAKE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT LH

    1. Install a new rear axle shaft nut.

      Torque:
      290 N*m  { 2957 kgf*cm, 214 ft.*lbf }
  7. INSTALL LOAD SENSING VALVE SENSOR BRACKET

    1. Install the bracket to the lower arm with the bolt.

  8. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH

    1. A01GLB8

      Install the sensor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note

      • The rear speed sensor is easily damaged. When installing the rear speed sensor to the rear axle hub RH, do not use excessive force to rotate and install it.

      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.

      • Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the sensor with a new one.

  9. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY
