ECM REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL (for LHD)

  5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL (for RHD)

  6. REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH (for LHD)

    Click here

  7. REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH (for RHD)

    Click here

  8. REMOVE INNER COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE (for LHD)

    Click here

  9. REMOVE INNER COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE (for RHD)

    Click here

  10. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL (for LHD)

    Click here

  11. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL (for RHD)

    Click here

  12. REMOVE ECM (for LHD)

      Lift up the 3 levers to disengage the lock, and disconnect the 3 ECM connectors from the ECM.

      Note

      When disconnecting connectors, make sure that foreign substances such as mud or water droplets do not adhere to them.

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and ECM from the vehicle.

      Note

      If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  13. REMOVE ECM (for RHD)

      Lift up the 3 levers to disengage the lock, and disconnect the 3 ECM connectors from the ECM.

      Note

      When disconnecting connectors, make sure that foreign substances such as mud or water droplets do not adhere to them.

    2. B0046AF

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and ECM from the vehicle.

      Note

      If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  14. REMOVE ECM BRACKET (for LHD)

      Remove the 3 nuts and ECM bracket from the ECM.

  15. REMOVE ECM BRACKET (for RHD)

      Remove the 3 nuts and ECM bracket from the ECM.
