POP UP HOOD LIFTER(for Front Side) INSTALLATION

  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL ASSEMBLY

      B004RMI Install in this Direction

      Install the hood lock control assembly.

  2. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER RH (for RHD)

  3. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. INSTALL POP UP HOOD LIFTER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the pedestrian protection system.

      • If the pop up hood lifter deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      Pass the pop up hood lifter assembly LH under the air conditioning hose as shown in the illustration.

    4. B004RGW

      Attach the hook to set the pop up hood lifter assembly LH.

    5. Install the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }
    6. Connect the pop up hood lifter connector.


      1. Before connecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

        While holding the CPA be sure to engage the connectors until they are locked and check that the CPA is in its original position (when locking, make sure that a click sound can be heard).

        Note

        Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when connecting the pop up hood lifter connector.

  5. INSTALL POP UP HOOD LIFTER ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the pedestrian protection system.

      • If the pop up hood lifter deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      B004T3S Connect Hood Lock Control Assembly Cable End in this Direction

      Connect the hood lock control cable end.

    4. Connect the hood lock control cable clamp.

      Attach the hook to set the pop up hood lifter assembly RH.

    6. Install the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }
    7. Connect the pop up hood lifter connector.


      1. Before connecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH (for LH Side)

  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  9. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

  11. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

  12. PERFORM SYSTEM CALIBRATION
